Financial Models & Business Economics

Validated a new practice's business model.

A newly licensed therapist preparing to launch her own practice needed confidence that the business could support the life she wanted to build. Together, we designed a financial model that mapped everything from office costs and pricing to client capacity and take-home income.

Instead of wondering whether the practice would work, she could see exactly how it would—and discovered she could reach her income goals while maintaining a three-day clinical workweek.

Built: Financial Model • Pricing Strategy • Capacity Planning

Outcome: Launched a profitable private practice with confidence.

"This is kind of a reparative experience for me. I usually avoid looking at my finances for weeks at a time. Doing it together made it feel possible."

Designed the operating model for a growing nonprofit.

As HAPPI expanded its fiscal sponsorship program, its backend had become fragmented and heavily dependent on its founder. We redesigned the organization’s financial and operational infrastructure—including bank account architecture, bookkeeping workflows, employment systems, project qualification criteria, and tiered sponsorship services.

The result was a clear operating model that reduced founder-held complexity, protected HAPPI from unfunded employment obligations, and created a practical roadmap for onboarding and supporting projects more sustainably.

Built: Financial Operations · Relay Bank Architecture · Employment Framework · Bookkeeping Workflow · Fiscal Sponsorship Tiers

Outcome: Replaced an improvised, founder-dependent system with a financially gated and scalable operating model.

“We came from feeling like there was this looming thing—with no clear strategy—to knowing what we’re offering, what needs to change, and what happens next.”

“There’s a lot that this process has done for us that can’t totally be measured.”

Turned expansion into a plan.

With one successful studio and a second location already under construction, OVHRL faced dozens of interconnected decisions at once: How much capital was actually needed? Which purchases were essential now versus later? How to structure membership pricing? How to approach compensation and hiring sustainably? How many members would the new location need to sustain itself?

Together, we built a living financial model that translated an ambitious vision into an executable plan. We forecast construction costs, equipment purchases, fundraising targets, loan scenarios, membership growth, staffing needs, pricing, profitability and cash flow—modeling every major decision to inform the path ahead.

Built: Expansion Financial Model • Capital Plan • Revenue Forecasts • Hiring Model • Fundraising Strategy • Phase 1/2 Buildout Budget

Outcome: Replaced uncertainty with a clear financial roadmap for raising capital, sequencing the buildout and opening a second location sustainably.

Built the financial model behind the pitch.

BlackFULLness was preparing to raise capital and wanted confidence that its financial story would hold up under scrutiny.

Together, we built and refined a financial model that connected user growth, pricing, hiring, operating costs, fundraising, and long-term scenarios into one coherent picture of the business.

Over several months, we pressure-tested assumptions, adjusted projections, and worked through investor questions until the founders understood the model well enough to explain every number, adapt it in real time, and confidently defend their assumptions during fundraising conversations.

Built: Financial model · Revenue forecasts · Growth scenarios · Hiring model · Fundraising strategy · Investor readiness coaching

Outcome: Equipped the founders with a financial model they could confidently use, explain, and adapt during investor conversations and strategic decision-making.

"The timing is, like, it's perfect. It's exactly what we need right now." — King David Walker
